Who receives your information
- Local professionals assigned to assess, quote for or carry out your job, with access limited to what they need.
- Cloudflare, which hosts and protects the website and provides Turnstile bot protection. Turnstile processes browser and interaction signals needed to distinguish people from automated traffic; it does not receive the contents of your enquiry through the Turnstile challenge.
- SMTP2GO, which transmits enquiry emails to us.
- Meta, through the Meta Pixel used for advertising measurement and related advertising services.
- Professional advisers, insurers, payment providers, regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where reasonably necessary or legally required.
We do not sell the personal information submitted through the enquiry form.
Cookies and similar technology
Cloudflare and Turnstile use technical signals and may use essential storage needed for security and reliable operation. The site also uses Meta Pixel. When a page containing the Pixel loads, information about that visit is sent to Meta and Meta may read or set cookies or similar identifiers for advertising measurement and related purposes.
You can restrict cookies through your browser and manage how Meta uses activity received from businesses through your Meta privacy and advertising settings. Blocking essential security technology may prevent the enquiry form from working.
For more information, see Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum, Meta’s Privacy Policy and SMTP2GO’s Privacy Policy.
International transfers
Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we require an appropriate legal transfer mechanism, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards, where applicable. You can contact us to ask for more information about the safeguards relevant to your information.
How long we keep information
- Enquiries that do not become jobs are normally kept for up to 24 months after our last contact.
- Customer, job, payment and transaction records may be kept for up to six years after the end of the relevant financial year where needed for contracts, accounts, tax, complaints or legal claims.
- Security and technical logs are kept for the periods set by us or our providers and only for as long as reasonably needed for security, diagnostics and legal obligations.
We may keep information longer when required by law, needed to establish or defend legal claims, or when a complaint remains unresolved. We securely delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.
Security
We use measures appropriate to the nature of the information, including encrypted HTTPS connections, server-side validation, Cloudflare Turnstile, restricted access and encrypted service credentials. No internet service is completely secure, but we work to prevent unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you the right to:
- ask for a copy of your personal information;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to erase or restrict the use of information;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing;
- receive certain information in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent.
Your right to object: you can object at any time to direct marketing and, in some circumstances, to processing based on our legitimate interests.
Contact us using the method above to exercise a right. We may need to confirm your identity. These rights can be limited in some circumstances, for example where we must keep records by law.
Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, by telephone on 0303 123 1113, or by writing to the ICO, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version will always appear on this page, with the date of the most recent update.
